WATER SHUT-OFF: TUESDAY, AUGUST 28 (FLOORS 1-7 ONLY)

A water shut-off will be taking place to floors 1—7 ONLY on Tuesday, August 28 from 9 a.m.—2:00 p.m. The water shut-off is to accommodate a unit in need of replacing valves.

If your unit is located on floors 1 – 7 please do not use water during this time as it will put air into the pipes and cause issues in the plumbing system.

If you are in need of conducting plumbing work within your unit that requires a water shut-off please contact Management ASAP at msuarez@actionlife.com. We will do our best to accommodate requests.

BUILDING WIDE WATER SHUT-OFF: TUESDAY, AUGUST 14 @ 9 AM – 3 PM

Please note that there will be a water shut-off to the entire building on Tuesday, August 14 from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. in order to conduct maintenance to the ACVs located throughout the building. We understand that this is an inconvenience and appreciate your cooperation.

Few things to know:
• DO NOT ATTEMPT TO TURN ON YOUR WATER DURING THE SHUT-OFF. Doing so will put air into the pipe lines and cause pressure issues for your unit and the units within the stack. This is a major contributor to pressure issues when the water is turned back on.
• Without the water on, your toilet is still available for use and can be flushed 1-2 times maximum.
• You may see bubbles or “murky” water once the water turns back on. This is normal and is a result of air getting into the pipes. The water is drinkable and will look clear after running it for a few minutes.

After a water shut-off we have discovered that air gets trapped in the pipes; in order to clear this issue and get your pressure back to normal please run your hot and cold water for the sink and tub in BOTH of your bathrooms at the same time for at approximately 1-2 minutes. This will cause the air to escape through your fixtures and allow the plumbing to stabilize itself.

Also, your aerator in the kitchen and bathroom sink may get clogged after a water shut-off. It is recommended that you clean and remove any debris or mineral built up.

What is an ACV?
Automatic Control Valves (ACVs) regulate the pressure flow of fluids. These valves normally respond to signals generated by independent devices such as flow meters or temperature gauges. When you use your sink, shower, and appliances you are signaling to the system that you need hot and/or cold water. The ACVs go to work to fulfill your request. Annual maintenance ensures the devices work properly throughout the building.
