TAILGATING INTO THE GARAGE
Posted By msuarez on September 22, 2017
Knowing who is entering the building is important for our safety; the first points of entry being at the garage gate and the lobby door. Although it can be uncomfortable and a hassle to stop people who are tailgating, it’s important that everyone work together on this issue.
It is suggested that as you drive into or out of the garage, that you pull-up far enough and wait for the gate to close behind you before driving away. Watch to see if anyone tries to sneak in. If they do, you can contact Security daily between 10:00 pm – 6:00 am at 619-289-6569 or SDPD if they act suspiciously. 9-1-1 if you whiteness a crime and the non-emergency line 619-531-2000 if you suspect trespassing.
Some residents have confronted tailgaters and requested to see access devices or told them they would have to wait to be let in by whomever they are visiting. Please remind your guests not to tailgate to avoid uncomfortable encounters and to not put our residents in such a position. If you feel the situation is unsafe or you are being threatened, remove yourself from the environment immediately and call 9-1-1.
